Rosebery Centre

Last year, The Murgitroyd Foundation allocated grant funding to Rosebery Centre in Polbeth, Scotland. This organisation does tremendous work with people with dementia and their families/carers.

It was wonderful to receive a letter from Anne Marson, Manager at the Rosebery Centre, on what our donation had helped them to achieve:

“We are delighted to put the last couple of years behind us and get all our services fully operational again, although we are still witnessing the outcomes for people with dementia, many of whom found the social isolation extremely challenging. The lack of stimulation and regular activities to attend clearly has had a negative impact with increased deterioration in cognitive function and wellbeing.
One positive outcome from the pandemic was we established a befriending service so we could provide one to one support, and this has been so successful it is now part of our core service. Trained volunteers offer weekly home visits where they take people with dementia out for short walks, trips out to a cafe or do different activities in the home.
Your donation has contributed directly to these services enabling people with dementia and their carers achieve some sense of normality-thank you again for your support.”

Our thanks to Anne and her team for their kind words – it’s very much appreciated by all at The Murgitroyd Foundation!
