Supporting Beatson Cancer Charity
The Murgitroyd Foundation have been a great support to Beatson Cancer Charity by sponsoring their Business Ambassadors Golf Day over the past few years. The work they do is fantastic and we are proud to be involved with Susan & her fundraising team!
“This year, we had 22 teams/88 golfers taking part at Dundonald Links. Liz Thomson very kindly joined us at the dinner and help to hand out the trophy to the winning team. The event raised £17,500.
The Beatson is an internationally renowned cancer centre and the busiest in the UK in terms of clinical activity and patient numbers as well as being the second largest cancer centre in the UK delivering all of the radiotherapy and much of the chemotherapy to the population of the West of Scotland, with a catchment area of 2.5 million people, which is around 50% of Scotland’s population. Each year The Beatson sees more than 8,000 new patients and delivers more than 25,000 courses of chemotherapy and 6,500 courses of radiotherapy.
Beatson Cancer Charity relies on fundraising events like this to provide a range of specialist patient and family support services and vital funding to enhance the treatment, care and wellbeing of anyone affected by cancer. We simply could not make a difference to the lives of so many cancer patients, former patients and families without your support, which allows us to be there alongside thousands of people throughout their cancer journey.”
