NSPCC Scotland

NSPCC Scotland were delighted to receive a donation of £3,200 from The Murgitroyd Foundation.

Every 45 seconds, a child makes the brave decision to contact Childline. Many are struggling alone with issues like mental and emotional health, thoughts of suicide, bullying, self-harm, and abuse. No matter the issue, our volunteer counsellors are here to listen. From our Childline bases in Aberdeen, Glasgow and across the country, we provide free, confidential support online and over the phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Since receiving support from The Murgitroyd Foundation, we have recruited 10 new volunteers in Scotland, with a further 15 ready to undergo their mandatory training. These new counsellors will play a pivotal role in allowing our Childline bases in Aberdeen and Glasgow to be there for children and young people in the years ahead.

Adeniyi Alade, Service Head, Childline Scotland, said the following:

“We are so grateful to The Murgitroyd Foundation for their support. Last year, our counsellors in Scotland responded to over 22,000 contacts from children and young people. This is only possible thanks to the kindness of our supporters, and I would like to thank The Murgitroyd Foundation again for their kind donation to NSPCC Scotland.”
