Playlist for Life

In March 2024, Playlist for Life was awarded a grant from The Murgitroyd Foundation towards the delivery of their Scotland Communities project over 12 months.

Playlist for Life is a music and dementia charity. The charity was founded in 2013 by writer and broadcaster Sally Magnusson after the death of her mother, Mamie, who had dementia. Their vision is simple: they want everyone with dementia to have a unique, personalised playlist and everyone who loves or cares for them to know how to use it. The Murgitroyd family were especially moved by the work that Playlist for Life do as Pat, their Mother, sadly passed away of Alzheimer’s Disease.

The grant monies from The Murgitroyd Foundation, and other donations, enabled a Communities Team to continue supporting a Help Point network on a day-to-day basis, issuing newsletter, facilitating e-webinars, and to deliver training.
